If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us 1 thing, it is that we need to deal with farewells and mourning in a warmer way. But where to start as a local community or cultural organisation?

Scientific research has shown that connection, culture and recognition are some of the key words in a healthy grieving process. Non-profit organization Reveil therefore believes it is important as a municipality, city or company to give your grieving community a heart to heart. To send a signal that no one is forgotten.

After all, in difficult times you can make lasting connections with your residents or team. It is the best gift you can give to mourners.

Already more than 150 municipalities in Flanders (Belgium) organize modest consolation concerts on November 1st between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.. These are serene moments of remembrance where people come together to pay tribute to our departed with local music, poetry and life stories.

"In the world of Reveil, a cemetery is not a scary landscape, but a warm gathering place where thousands of stories form the roots of a community."
